WBE completed the electrical infrastructure for Fortinet’s new 172,000 sq. ft. headquarters at the corner of Kifer Road and Commercial Street in Sunnyvale, California. The state-of-the-art facility achieved a LEED Gold Energy Efficiency Rating and incorporated advanced sustainable design features.

The building was constructed using a precast concrete structural system with a highly efficient passive cooling strategy, including a night purge system that flushed warm air from the building overnight—contributing to direct energy savings and a reduced carbon footprint. As part of the renewable energy scope, WBE installed a rooftop photovoltaic solar system consisting of 1,145 panels, generating approximately 570,000 kWh annually.

WBE’s Electrical Division installed all interior electrical systems, fire alarm, DAS/ERRCS, and integrated lighting and control systems. Exterior scopes included 139,000 sq. ft. of site lighting throughout the parking lot and the installation of electric vehicle charging stations to support green infrastructure goals.

The Telecom Division provided over 2,800 Cat6 cables to support workstations, printers, wireless access points, AV devices, and security cameras. More than 250 strands of fiber were installed to interconnect (8) data closets across the 4-story building and link to the existing campus. Notably, the project included a custom Marketing Lab featuring 39 glass-encased network cabinets with tailored trim, prominently showcasing Fortinet’s technology.

WBE’s Audio Visual Division outfitted multiple conference rooms across four floors with video conferencing and presentation capabilities, all controlled by Crestron Control Systems. The Network & Security Operations Center was equipped with two large video walls powered by RGB Spectrum processors and Planar displays. A standout All-Hands space in the building’s atrium was built with motorized projection screens, ceiling-mounted speakers across multiple floors, and full Crestron automation for company-wide announcements and presentations.

Together, WBE’s multi-division effort ensured a streamlined project delivery across disciplines, successfully meeting Fortinet’s advanced technology, communications, and sustainability standards in a single integrated buildout.
