The East Grand Avenue project consisted of installing two traffic signal systems and a fiber interconnect system that tied into the city’s main traffic signal system at the city maintenance center. WBE Traffic also included a video detection apparatus for traffic flow control, and an emergency vehicle detection system to assist emergency vehicles traveling through the intersection. The project faced big challenges, such as the large amount of existing underground utilities, and the high volume of heavy traffic moving up and down the road each day.
