Position Summary: Renewables Project Engineer I

As part of our Renewables Division, the Project Engineer I will primarily support project-based field work. This entry-level role provides administrative and technical assistance to help deliver projects successfully. It is a great opportunity for a motivated individual seeking to start a career in project management—we are willing to train!This position is non-exempt and eligible for overtime.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support construction projects by handling administrative tasks and project coordination
  • Set up new jobs in project management software, create job files, and manage data accuracy (Procore)
  • Assemble subcontracts and coordinate submittals, RFIs, and document control
  • Create material takeoffs, assist with purchase orders, and track procurement throughout the project lifecycle
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, daily work plans, labor tracking, and production data
  • Help coordinate Tier-Subcontractor scheduling with Project Foremen and ensure project deliverables stay on track
  • Assist with permitting, utility coordination, and keeping project drawings current
  • Work closely with field personnel, suppliers, subcontractors, and stakeholders to support project success
  • Participate in project closeout activities, punch list completion, and change order processing
  • Perform overtime work when requested to meet project needs

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field; OR successful completion of an electrical training program (preferred)
  • 1+ year of professional administrative experience and/or internship
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new technology and software
  • Proficiency with MS Office / O365 applications

Physical Requirements / Working Conditions:

  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers, coworkers, and field staff
  • Use of computer and keyboard for extended periods
  • Regular lifting (10 lbs frequently; up to 35 lbs occasionally)
  • Ability to wear required PPE on project sites (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection)
  • Regular and reliable attendance
