What You’ll Do
Key responsibilities include:
- Conduct regular on-site safety inspections to identify potential hazards and assess compliance with all WBE Safety Programs and jobsite safety protocols. Provide timely feedback and corrective action recommendations.
- Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks related to equipment operation, material handling, confined spaces, working at heights, and other construction activities.
- Ensure adherence to all WBE Safety Programs across construction sites.
- Develop and deliver safety training for field personnel, including PPE usage, equipment operation, emergency response, and hazard recognition.
- Provide required safety training such as fall protection, scissor lift, boom lift, confined space, heat illness prevention, silica, and air quality.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near-misses; perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Administer disciplinary action as required for safety infractions.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, etc.) and proactively update safety policies as regulations evolve.
- Generate accurate safety reports documenting trends, incident statistics, corrective actions, and program effectiveness. Present findings to management when needed.
- Foster a strong safety-first culture by conducting safety meetings, promoting open communication, and recognizing exemplary safe behaviors.
What We’re Looking For
- OSHA 500 and OSHA 30 required; additional safety certifications are a plus.
- Construction industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations, standards, and best practices (OSHA, ANSI, etc.).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to train, guide, and influence personnel at all levels.
- Proven ability to develop and deliver effective safety training programs.
- Strong leadership, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to conduct thorough investigations and implement meaningful corrective actions.
Experience and Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field—or equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing and delivering safety training.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged walking, standing, and navigating active construction sites, manufacturing areas, and outdoor environments.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. (e.g., safety gear, signage, first aid equipment).
- Frequent use of hands and fingers to operate safety devices, communication tools, and documentation equipment.
- Visual acuity required to identify hazards, inspect equipment, and review safety documents.
- Ability to bend, kneel, squat, climb, and access confined spaces or elevated work areas (scaffolding, roofs, equipment platforms).
- Exposure to varying weather conditions, dust, noise, and potential chemical or electrical hazards.
- Ability to communicate clearly in person and via radio, phone, or email—especially during emergency or high-stress situations.
- Occasional travel to multiple job sites, including remote locations, and occasional overnight stays.

Pay: $104,000.00 – $165,000.00 per year
