Grid-Scale Battery Energy Storage Facility

PROJECT DETAILS

WBE is currently providing electrical construction and commissioning support for a large-scale Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility designed to strengthen grid reliability and support energy resiliency.

The project includes installation and termination of medium-voltage AC circuits, low-voltage feeders and branch wiring, control cabling, fiber infrastructure, conduit systems, and extensive grounding and bonding throughout the site. WBE’s scope also includes medium-voltage cable testing, equipment interconnections, auxiliary power systems, fault indicators, conductor labeling, and supporting site electrical infrastructure.

WBE is also supporting installation of the battery energy storage equipment and medium-voltage transformers, including foundation welding, equipment grounding, terminations, and connections between the BESS yard and substation infrastructure. The team is providing site commissioning support to help verify proper installation and system readiness prior to energization.

Additional work includes security camera infrastructure, self-contained site lighting, fire protection system installation within WBE’s scope, and management of electrical materials and equipment on site. The breadth of the work requires close coordination across medium-voltage distribution, controls, communications, grounding, and energy-storage equipment to support the successful delivery of this complex grid-scale facility.
