Security Project Manager
$115k – 167k/Year + Bonus + ESOP + Exceptional Benefits
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Security Project Manager to oversee electronic security projects from conception through completion. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in access control, video surveillance, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage systems, with the ability to manage project execution while supporting pre-construction planning, budgeting, and proposal development.
This role requires a proactive leader who can effectively coordinate customers, vendors, field personnel, and subcontractors while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage security projects from initial customer engagement through project closeout.
- Review project plans, specifications, and customer requirements to develop project estimates, scopes of work, and cost proposals.
- Coordinate labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and procurement activities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Track project costs, labor productivity, schedules, and overall profitability.
- Prepare and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
- Conduct site visits, project meetings, and progress reviews to ensure successful execution.
- Identify project risks, scope gaps, and value-engineering opportunities during both pre-construction and active project phases.
- Support business development efforts by assisting with estimates, proposal preparation, and scope development for new opportunities.
- Collaborate with operations and field teams to ensure seamless project handoff and execution.
- Ensure compliance with company safety policies, industry standards, and customer requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- 3+ years of project management experience within the security, low-voltage, or electrical contracting industry.
- Working knowledge of access control, CCTV/video surveillance, intrusion detection, intercom, and network-based security systems.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and Division 28 documents.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer relationship skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites as needed.
Preferred
- Experience with platforms such as Genetec, LenelS2, Avigilon, Milestone, Software House, Gallagher, or similar systems.
- Experience developing project budgets, estimates, and change order pricing.
- NICET, PSP, PMP, or other industry certifications.
- Background in low-voltage construction, electrical contracting, or security system installation.
