Position Overview
The Traffic Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, completion, and financial success of multiple electrical construction projects. This role requires strong business acumen, financial oversight, and an understanding of how project performance impacts the company as a whole.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage large-value electrical construction projects from pre-planning through closeout
- Execute direction from Division Manager and WBE leadership
- Support divisional development and process improvement initiatives
- Manage all financial aspects of contracts, including progress billing, rental equipment, income, and expenses
- Forecast project financials and participate in monthly forecast meetings
- Prepare schedules of values (SOVs) and billings
- Identify, submit, and drive approval of change orders
- Identify, prevent, and mitigate project schedule delays
- Manage prime contract execution
- Monitor subcontractor scopes of work, create subcontracts, and approve subcontractor SOVs
- Partner with Virtual Construction, Estimating, and field teams during project pre-planning
- Create, monitor, and resolve purchase orders, submittals, and RFIs
- Train and direct project support staff, providing guidance as needed
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards
- Maintain required project logs and documentation
- Oversee labor reporting and forecast man-hours against budget
- Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and vendors
- Monitor construction activities with onsite Foreman to ensure schedule and budget compliance
- Investigate issues and implement corrective actions in accordance with company guidelines
- Represent WBE in project meetings
- Ensure complete project closeout, including documentation and financial reconciliation
- Participate in the training and development of Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and Project Managers
Qualifications & Experience
- 5+ years of traffic project management experience preferred
- Experience estimating and managing change orders
- 5+ years working with contract plans/specifications and project accounting
- Completion of an accredited electrical apprenticeship or 10–15 years of diverse electrical industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
- High level of business awareness and financial understanding
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technology
- Proficiency in MS Office / O365
- Experience with Spectrum, Bluebeam, PlanGrid, or similar project management software

- Valid Class C driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites, supplier locations, and meetings
- Ability to wear required PPE (hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, etc.)
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, field teams, management, and coworkers
- Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout construction sites and office environments for extended periods
- Vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment
- Frequently lift/move up to 10 lbs; occasionally up to 35 lbs
- Regular and reliable attendance
Compensation & Equal Opportunity
- Annual salary range: $135,000–$160,000 (final pay based on experience, skills, education, and location)
- Competitive total compensation package reflecting labor market conditions across U.S. regions

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $132,000.00 – $187,000.00 per year
